Throughout September the Financial Services Skills Council (FSSC) will be running a series of industry focus groups aimed at understanding current employer perceptions of the FSSC as well as establishing how the industry believes it could enhance its service. The FSSC has asked ifs School of Finance to bring the focus groups to the attention of members.
It is for the above reasons that the FSSC has commissioned a series of focus groups, to be run across the UK during September, designed to solicit the views of those people that influence and shape strategy within their own organisations. The feedback from these groups will populate an industry-wide online survey which will, in turn, help form the FSSC strategies to best support and represent the sector.
Each focus group will only take a short period of time (around 90 minutes).
The dates and locations of the sessions are listed below:
If you are an employer and wish to register to attend one of these events please use the booking process on the FSSC website under the "Employer Focus Groups" section indicating your preferred location/date.
The ifs School of Finance has developed a new qualification in advanced financial advice benchmarked to QCA level 4. The Diploma for Financial Advisers (Dip FA) is aimed at advisers who have built up experience and a customer profile that is commensurate to higher level advice.
The overriding objective of the qualification is to enable advisers to help consumers gain maximum benefit from the advice process through clear communication of advice.
Mystery shopping exercises have shown that not only does an adviser need to do what is necessary to comply with regulation, they must also communicate effectively to ensure that the client understands what advice is being given and why. Failure to meet consumer expectations of the advisory process remains the greatest obstacle to professional recognition and is of fundamental importance of the retail financial advice sector.
