The ifs School of Finance, an educational charity offering finance related qualifications to industry and the wider community, is to hold a masterclass on Islamic Banking and Finance at its Cannon Street Offices later this month.
It's not just in the mortgage lending market that Islamic products are developing quickly, other products in the insurance and savings market are also coming to the fore.
To give practitioners who have just moved into this area a better understanding of the issues, and also to help newcomers to the area, the ifs School of Finance will be holding a Masterclass event on Islamic Banking & Finance on Wednesday 29th November.
This will enable attendees to identify those principles of Islam which are relevant to Islamic banking as well as describing the implications of Sharia law relevant to financial products as well as illustrating the challenges faced by Islamic banks.
Karen Warden, Head of Executive and Professional Education at the ifs School of Finance said, "For the banking and finance industry in general Islamic finance has the potential to be one of the most exciting growth areas in the market. Now is the time to get involved if all concerned are to realise the benefits it can deliver".
