Book an exam
This page provides details of how to book either a written or electronically delivered examination.
The ifs School of Finance works in partnership with Pearson VUE, a leading international electronic delivery provider, to offer electronic examinations for the following qualifications:
You can book your examination as little as two working days in advance of the day you wish to sit the exam, subject to availability. If you need to make any changes to your examination booking you will be required to give Pearson VUE a minimum of two working days notice or your fee may be forfeited.

Before the start of your exam you will have a short practice session to familiarise yourself with the technology. The system is very simple to use: you use a mouse or keyboard to enter your answer choices, and you can flag questions that you wish to revisit, whilst counters at the top of the screen show the time remaining and number of questions answered.
You will be required to arrive at least 15 minutes before the examination is due to start and provide relevant photo ID before you are admitted. If you are late for your examination or do not have sufficient ID you will not be allowed entry and will be required to pay the examination re-sit fee before you can make a subsequent booking.

Identity documents that do not have roman script and cannot be read by the Test Centre Administrator is not acceptable identification.

All written examinations for the above qualifications are held in April and October each year.

The examinations are three hours in length and allow an additional 15 minutes preparation time.
Attendance notices for written examinations are sent approximately three weeks before the examination date. They confirm the date, time and location and advise on what you need to take with you to the examination.

* CeFA® Module 3 'Retirement Planning and Protection' contains two units numbered 5 and 6. These follow on from Units 3 and 4 contained within Module 2. From 1 September 2007 students sitting Retirement Planning and Protection (CeFA® Module 3) will sit Unit 6 'Retirement Planning' questions first followed by the questions for Unit 5 'Protection'.
